The 2016 Herts Advertiser Community Awards

An initiative to celebrate the valiant heroes of the St Albans community is back for its second year.
An awards ceremony recognising that community spirit is alive and thriving in the St Albans district is back after the spectacular success of last year’s inaugural event.
The Herts Advertiser Community Awards reward those people who are making a significant contribution to their community, whether as a volunteer, fundraiser or unsung local hero.
Herts Ad editor Matt Adams said: “Last year’s awards were a phenomenal success, and people were still talking to me about them months later, so we’re delighted to be continuing this year with another celebration of the district’s community champions and outstanding citizens.”
The deadline for entries is Thursday 21st July.

The Maltings Community Heroes 2016

PrintWhether it’s someone who has lent a neighbourly hand, taken it upon themself to help clear out the streets of rubbish or raised thousands of pounds for charity, their story is worth being heard.
The Maltings Community Heroes campaign will run until September, and each month the shopping centre will be rewarding £100 to spend in their stores for one of these heroes. To enter simply email your story to including the name of the nominee, their contact details and your name and contact details.
Centre manager Phil Corrigan said: “The Maltings Community Heroes Awards 2015 was such a great success that we didn’t even question running it again this year.”
The Maltings will continue to be the headline partners of the Herts Advertiser Community Awards 2016.
